Types Of Blood And Rarity

There are various types of blood and rarity depends upon what percentage of the population belongs to a specific blood group. The types of blood have been divided so that one is able to tell who belongs to what blood group. This is important- our bodies are unable to accept just about any type of blood while in other cases the body may accept all or most types of blood and rarity is not much of an issue because of the fact that these guys’ blood is such that any types of blood can be accepted by their bodies.

When it comes to types of blood and rarity doctors will always ask you about your blood group. If you happen to be a donor do notice that doctors would ask you about your blood group and usually various blood groups are kept in separate packets, cylinders and such like. You may wonder why this is the case. Well, the thing about types of blood and rarity is that the body cannot just accept all sorts of blood, as was stated above, and so the doctors keep them separately so that people with specific types of blood group can be given specific types of blood.

So if someone gets into an accident and needs blood he cannot accept your blood if you blood group is type A and his is type B. This is because of the fact that the red blood cells of different types of blood types/group have antigens on the surface which may cause them to reject your blood and since blood is needed urgently the doctor separates blood into blood groups so that he can instantly use a blood type that is the same as his patients. The blood types vary from person to person.

Antigens could be proteins, carbohydrates or glycolipid where red blood cells are concerned and if the various types of blood and rarity of the blood is such that it cannot be accepted by a person, the platelets of the recipient would produce antibodies that reject the red blood cells of the ‘new blood’ that has entered it.

It is believed that the rarest of all, types of blood and rarity depends upon the population of people who have the blood types, is the blood group AB. Their plasma does not produce antibodies against blood groups A or B and they can accept blood from just about any blood types because of the fact that their red blood cells do not consist of antigens that would inhibit the red blood cells of other blood types from entering the body of the recipient. When it comes to types of blood and rarity, which can only be found out if a person get a blood test, and that barely takes a few minutes. The doctor may just prick your finger with a little needle or something similar to collect blood and this is then sent to the lab for testing. Within a few minutes you can tell which blood group you belong to exactly.
