Types Of Nursing Management

When it comes to different types of nursing management you general tend to think that nursing is all about giving the doctors a scalpel and syringes when he or she is operating on a patient, right? Well, nursing is a lot more than that and it is due to the existence of different types of nursing management that a hospital is able to run at all. Doctors are just a part of the hospital that stay there to perform surgery when the need strikes but nurses are the ones who run the whole show. Yes, nurses do watch over an operation as the doctor performs surgery to provide him with what he needs but there is a lot more that they do.

The first of the many types of nursing management involves asking a patient for his or her details and noting these down for the doctor to check out if the patient isn’t in urgent need of a doctor. He or she asks the patent how he or she came to be in their current position, what happened, how, where and why. This way the doctor can just look through the details and get started on surgery. If the patient is in need of a doctor surgery, the nurse sends a peon to call the doctor, or pages the doctor so that he can come immediately.

Another of the many types of nursing management involves overlooking a particular ward or over all wards at night. At nighttime the doctors go home to sleep and nurses are required to see the patients and attach any fluids or liquids if the need to do so is there. If any patient needs the doctor the nurses will page him or her and check his or vitals.

Then there are those types of nursing management steps that have to be taken to ensure that a newborn is provided with the kind of environment he or she needs to rest and be fed too. Such nurses watch over the vitals of the newborn and if, for example, the child shows signs of abnormality or bad health, they would notify the doctor so that he or she can come and take steps to rectify the situation. Even if, for example, the baby were to be put in an incubator, the nurse would have to handle the process of doing this.

Prior to an operation the nurses ensure that the patient is comfortable and if there is any need to give the patient anesthesia, the nurses are responsible for this. They also attach drips or anything else that is required to maintain the patient’s health after the operation is over and has been performed. This is also one of the many types of nursing management involved in the career of a nurse.

A clinical nurse ensures that all instruments are sterilized, the ones that need to be thrown away are disposed of and that basically everything is ready for the doctor at all times as well.
