Types Of White Blood Cells

There are several types of white blood cells. These cells fight against infection. A normal human body consists of approximately 5,000 to 10,000 white blood cells for each micro-liter of the blood. White blood cells are categorized in five different groups. The main task of white blood cells or WBCs is to protect body from the dangers of overseas particles. Red bone marrow is the real creature of these cells. These are also getting formed in a special type called as lymphatic tissue. The majority of WBCs get produced from the blood. Also, these can be found in minute amount in other body tissues.

There are two major categories of white blood cells viz. granulocytes and non-granulocytes. These two types of white blood cells get categorized into the further sub-groups. These categorized are formed on the basis of their appearance under the microscope.

Granulocytes:

These are filled with the granules. Granule contains chemicals that help in protecting body against the attack of foreign particles. Furthermore, granulocytes are subdivided into three types called as eosinophils, neutrophils and basophils.

Eosinophils:

Eosinophils brawl against different parasites and help in attacking overseas particles. These are involved in contaminations such as scrounging worms. Eosinophils are useful in the production of toxins that help in killing the parasites. Also, many allergic reactions get handled from these Eosinophils.

Neutrophils:

These are the most ordinary granulocyte. These are helpful in case of bacterial attacks. A bacterium lives in groups inside a human body. The Neutrophils surround these groups and defeat each of them. Usually, these are called as bacterial slayers since the main function of Neutrophils is to finish the bacterial infection.

Basophils:

The human blood consists of 0 to 1% of Basophils. In case of illness or attacks from foreign particles this amount of Basophils goes on increasing. Dumping of contents is possible when a foreign particle attacks the human body. The contents consist of a histamine which is causes sneezing or itching like problems. Basophils consist of granules containing heparin and histamine. These are one among the effectual types of white blood cells that help in inflammatory response when body tissues are damaged.

Non-granulocytes:

The second type of white blood cells is non-granulocytes. Non-granulocytes are further divided into two subcategories viz. lymphocytes and monocytes. These are important for fighting against microbes.

Monocytes:

As compared to the other types of white blood cells, Monocytes have the majority of numbers. Monocytes become macrophages after leaving the blood. A phagocyte of foreign particles is carried out by Macrophages. Also, macrophages help in phagocytosis of dead body cells. At the finishing stages of inflammatory response these macrophages come to action in a cleaning up process.

Lymphocytes:

These are considered as special among the other types of white blood cells. Lymphatic

Organs and tissues tend to cell division. This division gets carried out from Lymphocytes.

These are subdivided into two groups, B Lymphocytes and T Lymphocytes.

These are considered as the last step in the invulnerable system.
