Types Of Cell Organelles
The organelles play a huge part in making our body function healthy and right and this is why it is crucial that we get to understand what the types of cell organelles are. You see, organelles are subunits that are found in a cell. Each of the types of cell organelles has a special function aside from being a compartment of a cell.
The prokaryotic types of cell organelles are composed of three important structures. These three main structures that make up these types of cell organelles are the plasma membrane, ribosomes, and the cell wall. The plasma membranes are the part of the prokaryotic types of cell organelles that are composed of proteins, lipids and carbohydrates that perform many important functions depending on their composition. They are only selective, thus they are able to perform various functions. The cell walls are the ones that have the goal of protecting the cells. The ribosomes, lastly, are the types of cell organelles that enable cell protein synthesis.
The eukaryotic types of cell organelles, on the other hand, are the ones that carry genetic materials. There are many different structures involved in these types of cell organelles too. Much like the prokaryotic cells, the eukaryotic ones have ribosomes too. They serve the same function as well as they are the ones that are responsible for the cell protein synthesis here. The smooth endoplasmic reticulum membranes, on the other hand, are the ones that are responsible for detoxification of the body, synthesis of lipids, as well as the metabolism of the carbohydrates. The rough endoplasmic reticulum membranes are the types of cell organelles that produce proteins by secreting them from the cell. The main difference of the rough and the smooth endoplasmic reticulum membranes is that the smooth ones do not contain ribosomes while the rough ones have. The nucleus is not an organelle but is an important part of them. You see, these are the ones that carry the DNA when it comes to eukaryotic cells. They replicate them as well as transcribe them too. They are also the ones that are responsible for the synthesis of ribosomes through the nucleolus.
The mitochondria types of cell organelles are the ones that are consisted of two membranes. Basically, the mitochondria organelles are called power plans as they are the ones responsible for the respiration process called oxidative phosphorylation as well as the Krebs cycle of the body.
Lysosomes are organelles that have the primary function of aiding in digestion. They are consisted of enzymes that can be broken down as lipids, proteins, carbohydrates and nucleic acids. These organelles play a very important role in the digestion of food in our stomach. There are many different diseases that can be acquired when these organelles do not work right. One of these diseases would be the absence of the digestion lipids of the body leading to lipid accumulation in the brain. These organelles are called suicide sacs too as they are the ones that destroy unneeded cells in the body.
