Types Of Network Bus
In this present scenario, there are multiple ways of using a computer. These days it is used in the networking of a bus and there are different types of network bus. It is a physical layout basically which tells us that how a computer get connected to the network. It is entirely known as the topology. The size of the network never matters; its main motto is to be conformed to the single or combination of the typical networking topologies.
The topology describes that it is very rare to find out the physical layout of any kind of network. There are very less which helps in having an outlook of its structure or virtual shape. There are multiple types of networks available and one of them is the Bus Network and there are also different types of network bus. In order to understand these types of network bus it is very important to have an idea about the Bus Topology. In this type of topology only a single cable is used in order to get connected and shared with the computers. This single cable connection is known as the backbone. There are certain devices which work best with this type of bus network. The functioning of these devices is to make the cable capable of broadcasting the data with every tapping, which makes it possible for all the devices to see the broadcasting data.
This process of broadcasting generates a message which can be accepted by the recipient. If in any unfortunate case, the cable breaks down on the bus network topology then the entire networking system will be of no use. The technologies get advanced day by day, but when it comes to the network then it is outdated.
It is outdated because all types of network bus topologies cannot be used in a well-organized and competent manner. It is so because we cannot increase the number of hosts in it. It is so because with the increase number of hosts also increases the time of transmission of the data. The individual will have to wait a lot for the data to be transmitted. Also, it becomes very time consuming because in order to check these hosts the individual has to go through them one by one. This means, that at one point of time only one host is transmitted. It is a great problem if any difficulty comes to the physical bus. These buses are not the fault-tolerant. Also, the workstations linked with them are equal to the number of hosts associated with it.
There is one benefit associated with these types of network bus topologies, and it is that they use the least number of cables in comparison to any other physical topology. Also, cables are available at cheaper rates and the associated drawbacks results in potential benefits later.
It was a kind of general introduction over the bus topology and the types of network bus topology. It is also important to have an idea regarding such things in order to crack the Network plus (+) exam.
