Types Of Network Media Cables
In order to get a hang of the types of network media cables you would have to first know what a media cable is. A media cable is anything that allows you to be able to see or hear certain things that you could not see or hear without any connection to the network. Take a phone, for example- if your phone does not have a SIM card inside it, you have no network to connect to and you wouldn’t be able to make much use of your device because there’s no network that it is connected to.
One of the many types of network media cables are known as coaxial cables. If you have a television at home or have ever seen one, you would see that there is a certain wire behind it and it is quite thick and dense even to the touch. These types of network media cables are what allow you to see different channels on your television set and the channels that you have access to depend upon the network you go for. Network A may not show the same channel as Network B or both of them may show similar channels but some channels would be different too. There are thinnets and thicknet types of network media cables where these are concerned. The former are good for shorter distances while the latter are preferable for longer ones. The thicknet types of network media cables are thicker and allow more data to be transferred. They are great for data transfer and can transfer more data and cover longer distances as well. Usually thicknets combine several thinnet cables of the sort and this allows them to transfer more da
ta by combining all the thinnets which is why they are great for data transfer.
Modern research and technology has made it possible for engineers to come up with better types of network media cable that can send and receive energy without any hindrance, “blockage”, interference or issue and the optical fiber cable is an example of these types of network media cables. There are two types of network media cables- those that send and those that receive data. This “interaction” is what makes these cables so efficient. A single ray of light passes through them and is able to do so with great ease because of how these are made and manufactured. Single mode fibers of the sort are great for the transmittance of data over longer distances while multiple mode fibers are better for shorter distances instead.
Twisted pair cables are also types of network media cables that are commonly used in order to LAN networks and these types of network media cables help prevent crosstalk which would be a major problem otherwise. To prevent this the wires tend to transmit data in the opposite directions so that their magnetic fields do not coincide and result in the transmittance of data that is of no use to a party. This way cancelation of the two magnetic fields takes place.
