What are the types of bacterial infections? Bacteria multiply so rapidly and release some toxins that have the capacity to extensively damage the tissues. Bacteria come in several types such as Listeriosis, Staphyloccocus bacteria, Gonococcus, E.coli and Streptococcus. These bacteria lead to various types of diseases and infections. Such infections are considered internal or external. They can be inhaled or ingested. Through broken or damaged skin, they can infect the body as well.
-Gastroentiritis- This is one of the types of bacterial infections in which the body’s digestive tract is inflamed, not only that but also the intestines as well as stomach. You will know this disease by its symptoms which include diarrhea, abdominal cramping or pain, or fever.
-Sinusitis-This type involves irritation and inflammation of the tissues in the sinus cavity.
-Staph Infections- This is one of the types of bacterial infections which can lead to meningitis and septicemia in worst conditions. This is also one of the types of skin infections which causes endocarditis or blood poisoning.
-Lyme Disease- Humans get infected with this disease through certain ticks that are black-legged. Symptoms of this type include fatigue, fever, body ache and skin rash. In serious cases when left untreated, this can result in having swollen and painful joints which can eventually aggravate and lead to arthritis.
-Eye Stye-This is one of the types of bacterial infections which refers to bumpy, swollen as well as painful growth of something like a cyst on the eyelids.
-Tonsilitis- This is one of the types of bacterial infections which affects the throat.

-Acne-This refers to pimples which affect the skin.
-Pneumonia- Having the symptoms of rapid breathing, high fever, chills, inflammation and cough, this infection attacks the lungs.
-Impetigo-This infection starts from just a cut then if not treated well, the bacteria attack it. This is not only serious but also very contagious. Symptoms of this type include sores with fluids as well as pus and are usually seen in the areas of the face.
-Boil-This is one of the types of bacterial infections which is caused by the bacteria called ‘staph’ and appears as a lump under the skin which is filled with pus. After sometime it opens up.
-Scalded Skin Syndrome- This is one of the types of bacterial infections which usually affects infants that are newborn and is seen in the areas of the skin in the form of blisters then peels off after.
