Types Of Memory Memory
There are two main types of memory memory that you should know and understand. The thing is that our mind is one of the most powerful things that work in our body. It is the central control system of the body and it makes it function right. The types of memory memory you should learn is vital so that you can make sure that you can do what you can to keep it healthy at all times.
The two types of memory memory that you should learn to understand are the long term memory and the short term memory.
As the name implies, the short term types of memory memory that you should understand are those that are like the cache of our brains. They are the memories that we have while we are at it, so they say. These are the memories that are there as it happens. It stays there until we decide to keep it in our long term types of memory memory or dispose of it by forgetting them already.
Long term types of memory memory that you should understand are those that stay permanent in our brains. Again, as the name implies, these are the types of memory memory that are there to be stored and kept. They are there to be managed and retrieved when we need them. Under the long term types of memory memory, there are three more sub types of memory memory. These three are also vital knowledge as you will be able to understand better how long term memory works when you know what they are.
Explicit Memory is long term memory that we want to keep there. In other words, these are the types of memory memory that stays there during the duration of our lives. Explicit memories are what we think of long term memories. They need conscious thought. They need our awareness to be kept.
Implicit Memory is the long term memory that we have in our brains because we repeatedly do them. One of the best examples of implicit memory would be reading and writing. When we are young, we are taught how to read and write, right? But as we grow older, we do these all the time and hence we are able to keep them in our minds.
Autobiographical Memory is the long term memory that we have in our brains because of experience. As the word autobiographical pertains to, this is the type of memory that we have because we cherish them as a part of our lives. A good example of an autobiographical memory is when we went to the beach with our friends and had the best time. These are like memory bumps that we unconsciously keep in our minds as special memories that we have gone through in our lifetime. But this doesn’t only pertain to the happy ones, mind you. You can also notice that there are bad times that are part of this like the first time we fell from a bike.
