Types Of Blood Genotype
The types of blood genotype will determine the blood type that you have. Basically, genotype is a term that is used to define the composition of a cell, individual or an organism. This simply means that the types of blood genotype are the composition of your blood. Hence, knowing the types of blood genotype pertains to the types of blood as well.
When you are said to have types of blood genotype that are OO, then you have the blood type O. The people who have a blood type of O are those that have no antigens whatsoever. However, the OO types of blood genotype are the ones with both A and B antibodies. The antigens are found in the surface of the red blood cell proteins while the antigens are found in the blood plasma components.
What are the components of the blood? The blood is consisted of roughly 55% plasma, 45% red blood cells, and 1% white blood cells and platelets. Plasma is the liquid or watery part of the blood that carries proteins, calcium, and other vitamins. Red blood cells are the ones that give your blood the red color. They are the ones that carry oxygen to your lungs and takes carbon dioxide out of the blood so that the lungs can exhale them. Platelets are the part of the blood that makes sure prevent it from bleeding. This is because the platelets contain a clotting agent. Lastly, the white blood cells are the components of the blood that makes sure that bacterium and viruses stay away from the blood. Although they are needed in little volume, they are still a vital part of the blood. Antibodies are the part of the blood that makes sure that the immune system works right. The antigens, on the other hand, are the components of the blood that binds the antibodies to it.
Going back to the types of blood genotype, if you are said to have a AA, AO types of blood genotype you are said to be a type A blood person. This means that you will have only the A antigens in the red blood cell surface proteins of your blood and only B antibodies in your Plasma.
If you are said to have a BB, BO types of blood genotype, then you are a type B. The people who have a blood type B are the ones who are said to have B antigens and A plasma antibodies.
Lastly, the people who are said to have AB types of blood genotype are the ones that are of blood type AB. These are the people who have absolutely no antibodies in their plasma but have both A and B antigens on the red blood cell surface protein components of their blood.
You see, in order to determine your blood type you should understand what the types of blood genotype are. Now that you know what they are, you can now be able to donate blood as you now know what your blood is composed of.
