There are 7 types of government for kids to understand. Remember that no matter how old a person is it is a good idea to familiarize them with the many types of government. This being said, the types of government for kids to know and understand should be clarified and explained while they are young. This way, they can have a choice for as to which kinds of government they would want to be in and be happy with where they will be.
Democracy is the first types of government for kids to understand. Democracy is basically government that is governed by the people. Here, people can run for office and help govern their place. Of course, the people will be the ones to choose the people they want to govern them by electing them to office.
Dictatorship is the second types of government for kids to get to know. Dictatorship is government wherein there is an individual person governing the place, which he or she got by force. Here, that single person is governing the place wherein what he or she wants will be followed. People have little to no voice here. This is why many people are unhappy with this kind of government.
Monarchy is the third types of government for kids to understand. Here, there is one person governing the state too. However, the power is inherited by the first born child of the family. This is the kind of government run by kings and queens.
Theocracy is the fourth types of government for kids to understand. This is the type wherein the church or religious institutions are the ones holding power. Most of the time, there will be a king or a queen but they will be under the influence of the church.
Totalitarian is the fifth types of government for kids to understand. Totalitarian is like dictatorship as well but instead of a single person a group of friends are running the place, controlling the citizen and their entire lives.
Republic is the sixth types of government for kids to understand. This is like democratic governments but here there will be a single person governing the place, the president. This is the most favored type by many because everyone gets to be heard and gets considered.
Anarchy is the last types of government for kids to get to know. This is a type of government that happens when there is war. In other words, there is anarchy when there is no functioning government. This means that when anarchy takes place there is chaos – and as a citizen, this is something that you don’t want as this can lead to so many bad things and no good.
Knowing these types, you can choose now which one you will be happy with. There are countries that have these types of government and hence getting to know them can give you the option to choose where you want to live in and where you will want your kids to grow up.
