Types Of Trees
What are the different types of trees? Trees are essential parts of our environment. They come in all shapes and sizes, too. The species of trees around the world is so diverse that you don’t get to see all of them in one location. In Canada alone, these are more than 180 species of trees that can be found in around 400million hectares of land. In the other parts of the world, there are many others. But among these many species of trees, they are categorized in two main types of trees. These two main types of trees are the deciduous trees and the coniferous trees.
Deciduous trees are types of trees that grow to spread out. They are shaped in a more rounded way compared to the other types of trees. The most common examples of the deciduous types of trees are the maple trees and the oak trees. As you may notice, when they grow they are of a widely spread out branches. They are also known to have broad leaves. These leaves are known to be flat as well. However, these types of trees are said to not be able to survive without water. This is because of the shape of the leaves. The flat, broad, and wide shape of the leaves allow them to catch a lot of sunlight. Therefore, they would require a lot of water to be able to keep them moisturized. Also, these types of trees are known that to not survive without warmth.
During the winter season, the leaves will not be warm enough to survive. Therefore, they dry up, turn red, and end up falling to the ground. As there will be no leaves left, the trees will not be able to produce food. When this happens, these types of trees are known to stop growing until the new leaves are in place.
Coniferous trees, on the other hand, are types of trees that are called evergreen. This is because these are the types of trees that are characterized by green leaves the entire year. These trees are known to grow in an upward direction. They are also known to have a triangular shape. These characteristics make these trees very strong. They have branches that can take the weight of the snow. The leaves of these types are known to grow long and pointed. If the leaves are not like this, then they can be small and have flat scales.
These trees are known to provide seeds that look like cones. When these cones open, the seeds will then be able to fall. Around the world, there are 500 species of these trees. They include the largest and the oldest of the trees around the world. The largest coniferous trees are known to be the redwoods, while the oldest coniferous trees are known to be the bristlecone pines. Other examples of coniferous trees include fir trees, spruces, pines, and many others. These are trees that are characterized by their needles. These trees are known to have short needles to have blunt tips which they use to reproduce.
