There are several types of useful computer skills that are quite important to know.

Computer Concepts and Operations Skill

This is one of the types of useful computer skills which includes the use of a technology which is computer-based to be able to manipulate,retrieve,create and store information to be able to express one’s ideas and to communicate with the other users.It also includes understanding and using dialogue boxes; printing document; understanding the differences of ‘save as’ and ‘save;’ starting an application and creating a document; retrieving, renaming, and revising a document; selecting menu items; recognizing the features of a toolbar, title bar, status bar, scroll bar and menu bar; identifying cursor; matching equipment to some purposes such as using a digital camera; and identifying hardware components such as the monitor, mouse and keyboard.

Databases Skill

This is one of the types of useful computer skills which includes understanding basic terminologies, such as records, files,and fields; understanding weaknesses and strengths of databases; understanding purpose or structure of databases;editing data in a record that is existing; deleting and adding records; sorting data; opening and using commercial databases; locating specific records and information; and choosing appropriate types of data for fields.

Spreadsheets Skill

This is one of the types of useful computer skills which includes understanding weaknesses and strengths of spreadsheets;understanding the structures or purposes of spreadsheets; understanding data from spreadsheets that are existing; understanding active cell; understanding cell addressing, entering data in a certain cell; formatting data in a certain cell; deleting or adding columns or rows- changing their widths and heights; formatting data to percentage, number, time and currency;sorting data; and generating the correct graphs such lines columns and bars.
