What are the different types of viruses? Our health is very important. We should always make sure that our health is doing good in order to be able to do everything that we need to do every day. However, there are just some days when we cannot control these things. Sometimes, we get exposed to certain bacteria that cause us to get sick. These are viruses. The most common types of viruses are the cold viruses. Yes, this is the common cold. You see, the common cold is caused by a viral infection that affects the nasal passage lining. This then leads to mild to severe runny nose and watery eyes, and then sneezing. Sneezing can transmit the cold viruses through the air. Therefore, it is a must that you are able to cover your nasal passages or nose when you notice someone around you is about to sneeze. This is the first step in preventing the cold viruses harm you. The common cold may last from seven to 15 days. But there are instances and types of viruses that make the cold viruses last even longer.
Among the many types of viruses, another common one is the flu virus. After the common cold, we have the common flu. These are viruses, such as influenza and the like, that can cause body aches, fatigue, fever, dry cough, stuffy nose, and muscle spasms. To protect yourself from the flu virus, there are shots and vaccines that you can get to ensure you don’t easily catch them.
The third of the many types of viruses are the stomach viruses. As the name implies, these are viruses that affect and disrupt the normal functions of the stomach. These viruses often attack the stomach tissues as well the upper intestine. This then leads to different cases of gastroenteritis. You will be able to tell when you have stomach viruses when you get diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, cramps, and vomiting. In children, stomach viruses such as the gastroenteritis can cause fever, watery diarrhea and vomiting.
Lastly, we have the hepatitis viruses. These are the types of viruses that affect the liver. There are actually five types of hepatitis viruses that can be caused by different factors. The hepatitis viruses can be caused by eating food that has been contaminated with stool, genetics, infected blood, and sharing of injections. Also, there are certain types of viruses that can be transmitted through sexual intercourse. Therefore, always make sure that you are clean and you do not just share your personal things with people you don’t know. The symptoms of these types of viruses include liver infection and inflammation with chronic fever and sometimes they can even lead to liver cirrhosis.
